28: Happy New Year! :D

28: Happy New Year! :D

Freshness of Overload
You can't argue that a good, heavy overload is not healthy for your soul. There's nothing like no life to make sure that you are well domesticated and chained to the lord of education and work. Yes, life is splendid and wonderful, and unfortunately all that splendidness bites large chunks of time of my life. Which renders my dA account rather in-updated. I apologize for the lack of participation, life can be rather consuming, and that is not to my pleasentness. I am not pleased by that. Although I have some time to work on my poems and writings, here and there, it is not in the frequency I aspired to. There's just too much to do, and too little time. But this is temporarily, until the end of this semester, on the next one I am planning to lower the amount of my studies – I am incapable of maintaining this amount of overload while trying to earn some living.

Anyway, that's not interesting. Money, education, life – all of that is just a mere mirror to the interesting things: Literature. So let's talk literature. What are you guys working on now? What are you writing? What are you reading? What did you find interesting – in and out of dA? What occupies you at the first step into the new year?

I finished writing the poem - Blue Nuns in a Barren Land. I also started working on some older poems, and wrote a philosophical article about the idea of Stasis-Existence, an idea that was forming in my mind. I have some plans regarding the Behind the Words interview series, which I'll update you with soon, and of course I need to update the Groups List. There are more interesting resources that I will publish really soon, for those of you who follow and read those, so generally a lot is coming. What I need now is time. Is anybody selling?

Happy New Year! I wish you all a beautiful year.
- Omri.

Reading is Life

:new:Don Juan - Lord Byron

I haven't laughed like this in a while, well, actually since I've read Chaucer's Canterbury Tales' The Nun's Priest's Tale. Anyway, this is wonderful, simply wonderful. I fell in love. Read.

Happy new year Omri! I'd sell you some time but I don't actually have any spare at the moment. Maybe another time ;)

As for reading and writing. I'm honestly not writing anything at the moment. You know the point where writing feels like a job? I've hit that... too much I need to write and I just don't want to. As for reading, I've actually started 'Animal Farm'... hope to finish it this time. Although it's only a hundred and something pages long, its length is deceptive :B There is something about George Orwell, I feel obligated to read his work but it's just too... idk, confronting?

Luck with the education bits and bobs.

You'd sell me!? Hmm. I wonder if I'm profitable...

I've been reading Lady Audley's Secret, which I have to finish by tomorrow. It's about 400 pages, I'm on ~110. Sometimes you HAVE to read, sometimes you HAVE to write. Sometimes you HAVE to scream to heaven that you HAVE TO STOP!

Ok. Now that I released tension I can say that I haven't read Animal Farm yet, it's on my reading list along with about... mmm... 40 books :blushes: I'll get there! I promise! In the meantime I urge you - Write! Read! Make life interesting

:giggle: I actually meant I'd sell you time but sure, that could work too >.>

English? There is something about being forced to read a book that makes me want to hate it... and that rarely happens in the end. Good luck with that... 300ish pages, that can be done, you just might be a little tired tomorrow.

I'm nearly done Animal Farm... I figured best to just suck it up and read it, so I'm nearly free :la: 40? Well... that's not too bad. I just leant out a heap of books so I can avoid reading them ;) I know, it sounds horrible but but... the obligation thing.

Write! Read! Make life interesting Same to you!

I do hope that your New Year was joyous.

In regards to that, I have set no resolutions because the only thing I desire is my mother's health, and unfortunately I have no control over that. All I can continue to do is pray for the best possible outcomes.

I do my best to channel whatever writing that I do happen to do into positive projects. I feel happier and far more productive that way. As of now, I have little motivation to finish my personal novels. The majority of them simply are in need of a proper edit. I may or may not do so when the time feels right. Quite honestly, I am entirely too focused on other things going on in my life right now, so my beloved hobby is taking more of a back seat.

I am sure by now that you have discovered the pitfalls of attempting to multitask. While I always desire to try and encourage others to do whatever brings them happiness, I do also hope that you are finding some important time for yourself, as well.

On New Year's Eve I was working :) And it actually was nice. It was funny.

 Multitasking is like drinking from the sea of knowledge and discovering it was a toilet water. In other words - YUCK. But for some reason it works for me, to a certain degree. I have a diffused thought-pattern, therefore multi-tasking actually helps me focusing at times.

I wish you and your family all the best - health, family, joy, fun. And that's just the toping of the cake of goodness!

There’s just too much to do, and too little time.

I agree with that. =/

Literature is a great world to turn to, I have to say...

I've actually just typed up something that I scribbled on a random day when something popped up into my mind (quite randomly, too).

I'm not feeling that great with reading.. normally I pick up a book no problem, but now I'm procrastinating with that. >.>

A happy New Year to you too. May 2011 grant some of your hopes and dreams. :)
